Many people misunderstand commitment. They associate it mainly with emotion: motivation, passion, excitement, inspiration, certainty, or intense desire.

But emotions naturally fluctuate.

If commitment depended entirely on emotion, very little in human life would remain stable for long.

True commitment usually begins at the point where excitement weakens.

It begins when a person continues showing up even after novelty fades.
